This is a feature request to enable Wireguard VPN protocol support in the StarlingX kernels, likely by enabling the CONFIG_WIREGUARD kconfig option.

Released versions of StarlingX do not have CONFIG_WIREGUARD enabled. Wireguard was accidentally enabled during the StarlingX 6.0 development cycle (i.e., before the official release), and a clean-up commit later disabled it.

Also note the following bug report, which was likely reported in the aforementioned time frame during which CONFIG_WIREGUARD was enabled in the kernel configuration:

    Kernel: Enable the use of WireGuard secure network tunnel.

    This commit enables WIREGUARD and its related kernel configuration
    options to support WireGuard secure network tunnel.

    Verification:
    - CentOS-based StarlingX
     - An ISO image was successfully built with this change.
     - There is wireguard.ko in kernel-core package.
     - Install the lab with ISO successfully.
     - Can modprobe wireguard successfully.

    - Debian-based StarlingX
     - An ISO image was successfully built with this change.
     - Install the lab with ISO successfully.
     - Can modprobe wireguard successfully.
