So i decided to see where things were, using Master Test build ISO 20210910T021849Z when hunting around and saw kernel 5.x was coming and i looked at the config and saw wireguard module included
i deployed it successfully, on the internal lab, and looked around a bit to find /lib/modules/5.10.30-200.3.tis.el7.x86_64/kernel/drivers/net/wireguard

screening: This should be looked at by the os team as it seems related to the new kernel. I'm not aware of a requirement for the wireguard kernel module for stx. Therefore, I marked the priority as low.

As mentioned in the description of the bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1984125 and in the StarlingX mailing list discussion at https://lists.starlingx.io/pipermail/starlingx-discuss/2022-August/013244.html , Wireguard VPN protocol support in the StarlingX kernel was enabled accidentally during the StarlingX 6.0 release cycle, but was disabled before its final release.

I suggest that we close this issue as invalid, and focus our efforts on enabling and testing Wireguard with the bug report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1984125
