<kgunn> hey so, on a rolling core image, i do snappy search mir, i see it...then sudo snappy install mir fails to install "snappy package not found"
<sergiusens> kgunn: there is no 'mir' package https:/
<sergiusens> kgunn: https:/
<sergiusens> which is not ok for a framework
<sergiusens> kgunn: I'd ask the store guys
<elopio> sergiusens: how do you add an alias ?
-*- sergiusens pokes at nessita and beuno
<kgunn> all news to me
<sergiusens> elopio: by being a store admin

<ubottu> Launchpad bug 1474658 in Snappy "Can't install hello-dbus-fwk: snappy package not found" [Undecided,
<kgunn> all i know is search returns "mir" and you can't install it
<elopio> kgunn: sergiusens: so it's the same bug ^
<sergiusens> elopio: so someone must of fiddled with the store database :-/
<elopio> either the search should return the origin, or it should be installed without an origin.
<sergiusens> elopio: yeah, https:/
<sergiusens> elopio: no, frameworks without origin aren't allowed
<sergiusens> elopio: so the proper client solution is to not show them in the search results until they have an alias
<elopio> sergiusens: I mean that snappy install could append the origin to the name you pass. Just a suggestion, not saying it's good.
<elopio> sergiusens: ok, I like that too.

This is fixed in 16, all snaps work with the short names now.

If you specify the origin it seems to work:
