Bug Description
It'd be nice to disable compression on snaps for performance reasons, disk is cheap and my filesystem already has compression turned on.

Yes, it would be nice to modify this, but this requires a bit of design work to make it work correctly. In the short-term we are instead focused on making other, more useful compression algorithms available to snap publishers. We may also at some point in the distant future enable user-specified algorithms to be chosen so that for optimum performance a user could specify they want no compression or for optimum disk usage they can specify they want maximal compression instead (at a performance cost).
