Well. The problem is that you changed the home directory location. This means you're now among the linux system administrators. And you are therefore disqualified from using a snap-based browser.

I have learned that using a snap-based browser _only_ works if you have done _nothing_ to customize your system. In fact, if you are sysadmin enough to use _sudo_ and have a file owned by root in your homedir, snap will punish you: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1987945 -- and that is just one of many examples.

At the time of writing, a snap-based browser might be fine, but not for people who have the root password. Unfortunately.
