This bug has 3684 "heat". The next worst bug has just 614 heat. Both are almost four years old. Both are tagged as "wishlist".

One and a half year ago it was (paraphrased) "this fix is easy when the epoch feature is done" and (quote) "For the record, the epoch feature is being actively worked on and it's not that far hopefully".

Now (quote) "It is likely this will be picked up after 20.04 as a new cycle starts". Not certain, just likely.

To me this sounds like you are just pushing technical debt in front of you ad infinitum.
