After executing the command,
$killall snap-store && snap-store --verbose

the store would not even load anymore. (SIGABORT)

Here is output of snap-store --verbose https://pastebin.com/KE01YStR

I then did
$snap refresh snap-store
and now the store works as expected and the text corruption seems to have disappeared for the time being.
