Simple scan is not able to scan double sided with an duplex unit installed. Simple Scan only scans the front side of the paper in the adf. hplip's "hp-scan" was able to provide that function. I am working on openSUSE 13.1 with hplip 3.14.6-1.2 and simple-scan 3.13.4.2. Printer is a HP OfficeJet Pro 8620.
