"The error message system is intentionally designed to be distracting/annoying."

Yeah, but it's not in a helpful way right now. Having the error I'm trying to fix disappear and then reappear a few seconds later doesn't help me fix it. I'd rather have it pop up and stay there until it detects that the problem's gone.
