May I be made a maintainer?

I see a number of very useful bug fix patches which could be readily incorporated. I think this program, although simple, is very useful and I would like to see it grow/get better/get bug fixes.

For anybody interested, I started integrating several patches as available here and eventually ended up almost rewriting screenkey completely to fix some of the issues such as keyboard translation:

Unfortunately, while I'm willing to support the source (I'm using both screenkey and key-mon for teaching), I'm not using ubuntu specifically to support this package as well. It would be nice if somebody could help here.
