It must be possible to progress students to the next grade at the end of the year, without reintroducing the data, and keeping the same student number. For example, progressing grade 11 students from year 2010 to grade 12 in year 2011, keeping the students and assigning them to new classes (and also adding new students). Past records of students (same ID) are kept in the system (as past data, but recoverable). It should be possible to recover the full record of a student, including the current and past information available. It must also be possible to collect statistics about the school: pass/fail rate, repetition, etc.
