Looks to me that Bug #485616 solves the dead end in Schedule view,
but Timetables view redirects to Schedule view and that is a dead end, so this is a different bug and is not fixed.

True, the Timetables link was removed from Section menu by Bug #485617 but it is still available from Journal when there are no periods assigned to a section, and after saving periods there is no link back to section or journal.
