It should be noted that if the installer doesn't complete successfully, any number of strange things might happen, so the login error might be a red herring, or there might be two separate issues here. Can you take a look at the tail of your apache error log and paste or attach anything that looks suspicious?
Can you also paste/attach the contents of your /etc/apache2/sites-available/agasti (or whatever you named it) configuration file? Or the section of your httpd.conf file that is related to your Agasti installation (esp. if you set up a virtual host)? The url to access the application shouldn't include the "web/" part, which makes me think the error message (at least) might be related to your configuration.
Finally, can you also tell me which branch you checked out? The output from a `bzr info` should suffice.
