I don't think it is the same. This situation appears to be entirely IO bound. Very little CPU time is used whilst it rebuilds the db.

You can observe this out for yourself by downloading the Packages file I uploaded and rebuilding it on a F16 machine. (You probably want to rebuild twice...)
