Which side-effect ? Correct fix is to use all active medias to pull dependencies, the same medias that are used to pull dependencies by rpmdrake or urpmi when installing new packages. There is no reason to workaround this by flagging release medias as update. Especially when workaround is more difficult to apply than correct fix.
