mips also has this issue

reproduce step:

root@qemumips:~# zypper install curl*
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

Problem: curl-dev-7.21.0-r0.mips is not installable
 Solution 1: do not install curl-dev-7.21.0-r0.mips

Choose the above solution using '1' or cancel using 'c' [1/c] (c):

With the 20110318 gold build qemuarm image, zypper can install/remove pakcage, but still have a issue. Please refer to bug 827 comment#2
