Now that there's an Ubuntu-Gnome distribution, the patch should be reverted so that Rhythmbox works as expected in Ubuntu-GNOME. And stock Ubuntu should "fix" Rhythmbox by having a rhythmbox-unity package or something like that. There's no reason why GNOME users shuld suffer from Unity's behaviour.
