DBUS support would mean that you can easily write capable GUIs for each DE which can change and read settings from the CLI application.
i’ll write a PyQt interface for use with KDE when this is implemented :)
exposed functions will need to cover
1. changing and reading the color temperature
2. changing and reading the coordinates
3. changing and reading the additional gamma correction
3. suspending and resuming the dæmon without closing it down
