Same for me, as for Ray. The map only updates if I open up the app and click the Apply button. I have the Start ... on Login checkbox ticked.

Syslog shows the following error on start up:

gtk-sunlight[1832]: segfault at 0 ip 008c919a sp bffcc0cc error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[856000+153000]

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop Generic, but with AMD processor.
