What were you doing when a problem occurred when the subfolder generation or file renaming dialog window was open?

BTW your NAS problem is almost certainly because you have not configured your NAS properly. Your NAS config has changed and Rapid Photo Downloader is not allowing you to download to it. Maybe it is reporting zero free space. Maybe it is read only. Something like that.
