Please ignore the stuff about (!is_zero_cow(bs, m) || true) being optimized out. Of course it isn't. And corruption still occurs with that way of calling only is_zero_cow(). Dunno what I did there. It seems to be even later than I thought. The rest of my testing holds true though.
