It seems V2.4 based though, so it would need to be backported down to 2.3 through 2.1.
Is there an established process for that kind of backporting need ?

Do you confirm my 'not reached' hypothesis (which would explain why your patch #4 did not make a difference) ?

Anyway, are you willing to shed some light on the reason why you stick to ex-or bit 31 in the 'fake-read' block ?
I would appreciate some comment about that in the code.
