The current behaviour of grouping all the commits of a merged branch directly under the merge commit is not really what is expected, IMHO. So may be it should be the default, but at least it should be possible to get this representation when clicking on the date column header.

Can you say whether it's easy to implement this? I can give a shot, but I'll have to brush up my Python, so if you're familiar with the bzr-gtk codebase and would like to make a patch, that would be great.
