Apologies, I mixed up the calls to the /identity API with calls to the /compute API.

I had been thinking that it would make sense for the auth-related calls that keystoneauth is handling to be logged under its logger, but for the calls to the compute API that novaclient is directly making, I agree it would be more useful to log them under novaclient's logger.
