@Kieran: I do indeed need to get that into keystoneclient docs. There has been a lot of changes over there recently that will need to be explained including how the authentication plugins work.

I'm waiting on one more review: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/60752/ which i consider the last of the core session changes at which point we will be able to start pushing this towards other clients. When that is approved i will write the whole thing up for keystoneclient docs.
