better description of failure: Bose SLIII appears in blueman-manager in response to adapter search, but pair fails.
as noted above, this works properly in focal ubuntu, and fails in focal lubuntu. this can be reproduced by merely booting the focal ubuntu and lubuntu live ISOs and installing blueman-manager into the live systems.
