Sorry if the above statement makes it sound like you should make this change solely because of my preference. I meant that I am most likely not the only user out there that
A. never uses their email client in fullscreen
B. prefers a 3-column view
The 3-column view without fullscreen is especially useful for people with large displays. Fullscreen email probably makes perfect sense on a tablet, netbook or small laptop, but on a desktop system with multiple large displays a user is more likely to have ample room for 3-column view within a regular application window.
