I agree with you about the qt5-default stuff, but I'm not sure if qmlscene is enough.
After qmlscene has been installed, I got:
ubuntu@201306-13866:/usr/share/2013.com.canonical.certification:checkbox/data$ sudo apt-get install qmlscene

qmlscene is already the newest version.
