Sorry to take so long to take a look at these. There are a bunch of really cool ideas in here.

One thing to consider is that the most-often-seen version of the Pithos icon is the 16x16 version in the taskbar. Many of these designs are great when they're large, but may be too detailed to work when scaled down.

As for colors, you probably want to take a look at http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Theme_Guidelines for specifications on how to make the icon fit in with the color scheme and design of other Linux icons.

Also, would anyone like to provide feedback on the current Pithos icon? I'm not an artist by any means, and I'm not attached to it, so it's great that people are coming up with alternative ideas if people think mine sucks.
