I did additional test on Ubuntu 11.10 without purging 1.0 version, so upgrading the 1.0 to 1.1.

1. Purge Pinta 1.1 installed from PPA
sudo apt-get purge pinta

2. In Ubuntu Software Center from Software Sources I have unchecked Pinta's PPA.

3. Installed Pinta 1.0 from official repository:
sudo apt-get install pinta

Pinta 1.0-3 is installed. <Alt>+<Tab> and Pinta's icon is displayed fine.

4. In Ubuntu Software Center from Software Sources I have checked Pinta's PPA and updated the repository.
sudo apt-get update

5. Upgraded Pinta to 1.1:
sudo apt-get upgrade

Pinta 1.1 is installed. <Alt>+<Tab> and Pinta's icon is not displayed correctly.

So it looks like upgrading the package also does not preserve the icon.

Can someone else confirm this missing Pinta's icon? If yes, then there is most probably some problem in package that does not update the icon.
