Comment 9 for bug 696293

I also have this problem. I am on a late 2007 MBP running Mountain Lion (10.8.1).

I am using Pinta version 1.3. I just installed it (after installing Mono), and it crashes as soon as I click the text tool. A number of posts above mention GTK+; is that something that I need to install prior to running Pinta? I am not familiar with GTK+. I read up on it, but I am not sure if it is a library used to compile Pinta, or something that I need on my system.

XQuartz (X11) is already installed on my computer. I think I remember the Mono webpage saying that it uses X11 for font. Not sure if this is relevant.

Let me know if there is any other info I can provide, or any way I can help. Other than this, I am excited to use Pinta! I've been looking for a simple, free paint-like program since I became a mac addict. Thank you so much!
