I tried to find any ability to change the language - but i did not find any. How can i run it?

I am experiencing the same thing. I'm on Mac OS X. I have been running in English for some time without any problems. I added Russian as a second language in the system settings (I know a little, and sometimes need to use it), but English is still my primary language in the system settings (and in life). When I type echo $LANG from the command line, it says en_US.UTF-8. So, my default language is English. But Pinta just wants to start up in Russian now. It seems like it's picking the language from the wrong end of the list. I know enough Russian to navigate through the menu items some, but I don't know all the image manipulation terminology, so I want to get back to English. I can just remove Russian from the list of languages, but I'd rather not. Any updates on this, since the bug was posted?

I have the same issue. I have Hebrew installed as a secondary language, and Pinta started for the first time with Hebrew as the default language, even though the system default is English. the LANG var is set as "en_US.UTF-8" in my terminal window.

I don't have MacOS to test this. But maybe you can get some idea:

*** WINDOWS ***
1. Open text editor and paste bellow text:
set LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
run "C:\Program files\Pinta\Pinta.exe"
2. Save fine e.g. pinta_english.bat and run a file.

Another work-around for Windows is to rename folder un "C:\Program files\Pinta\lang" so something else like "C:\Program files\Pinta\_lang".

***LINUX***
1. Start Pinta with command:
LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8 pinta

Maybe you get some idea how this could be run on MacOS.

If you do find a solution, please report back.
