J Bruni, I have checked Cameron's fix and it looks like problem is fixed now.

Can you please do the following:
1. Download version 1.7.0.174 or newer from http://forge.pinta-project.com/ - click on "Zip" link.
2. From file editor right click on zip file and select "Extract Here".
3. New folder is created and click on that folder starting with name "pinta-dev-<some_version>".
4. Double click on Pinta.exe and Pinta is going to be started in Mono environment.
5. Check Help | About if you really have a new version.
6. Test the problem.
7. After testing you can delete with unzip created folder to delete this Pinta development 1.7.xxx from your system.

Above steps will NOT have effect on your system, your current Pinta official program will still be at 1.6 stable, so above steps will have harm to your system.

It would be nice if you could test and confirm that fix is really working as you think it should. I have never used this Levels effect, so I don't know how it should really work.

Officiall fix will be released in Pinta 1.7 stable, probably it is not going to be released in couple of months.
