Do you have a reproducible TCs ?
If you have one and you can share it would be good (please also share the my.cnf setting)

Also, I assume you have taken into consideration Galera limitation.
Given MDL is involved locking related limitation. Does you app uses GET_LOCK/RELEASE_LOCK ?
