I was not able to reproduce the problem with the latest lp:pbxt. I tried both standalne build and inside MySQL tree. My build options:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mysql --enable-assembler --with-extra-charsets=complex --enable-thread-safe-client --with-big-tables --with-readline --with-ssl --with-plugins=max-no-ndb --with-embedded-server --enable-local-infile
