Great to see some progress on this! It looks like some of the previous map code for shotwell was put to good use.
Is it just my lacking understanding of bzr or are there indeed patches unrelated to the map support in the proposed merge set? I was trying to get a clean diff (in particular to see if the code also works with shotwell) but I didn't succeed..
