Pantheon-Mail 0.10.0
Setup:
In a thread with four messages (all previously viewed), when I click the second message in the thread in order to expand it, the second message does expand from the click. HOWEVER the thread also scrolls all the way to the last message, leaving the second message (the one I clicked) not even visible.

There have been some changes lately to the part of the code that handles clicking and scrolling of messages in a conversation. Your issue might be fixed.
Do you have a chance to either compile the latest code for Mail from trunk or install pantheon-mail from the daily ppa and see if this works for you?
