There seems to a problem if a folder is clicked on while the information overlay (at bottom right) is still working (spinner active); this click seems to be ignored/lost. The folder only opens in another column if you click when the overlay has finished working.

This bug needs to be opened on Github, however (https://github.com/elementary/files/issues).
