Currently folders have the same permission labels as files do. This does not reflect what permissions really govern and "execute" permission makes no sense at all.
The permission to "read" a folder is actually a permission to *list* its contents, and the permission to "execute" a folder is the permission to *access* its contents. The labels should be changed to reflect this.
