I've followed the steps above and still don't hit the unack problem.

I'm beginning to suspect it may be related to the environment.

Since we both used the same container-based rabbitmq server I think it's safe to say the problem isn't on the rabbitmq side.

My environment: I'm using fedora 28 x86_64 (+ all current patches).

I'm running this test under python 2.7.15.

I've got 1.1.0i version of the OpenSSL libraries installed.

I've attached the output of pip list (run in the same environment as the simulator for the test).

What's your environment like?
