With the latest releases available via PPA, .tar.gz and bzr and also considering origami is completely contained within one file (outside of the documentation), I don't see an upgrade function as a priority.
I would suggest keeping up to date with the latest origami release by way of the origami-dev PPA. This will allow you to use the latest builds without requiring you to upgrade your Ubuntu release.
