I have checked and tha file that has introduced the bug is cameras.cs. In fact eliminating the subtraction of 700 in the computation of the minimum distance of the FOV for the distant mountains creates the hole between standard terrain and DM.
 I attach here a patch to solve this and kindly ask James to commit it if he agrees.
