I did a search for "metadata" and found these:

I checked with the latest from https://github.com/openstack/quantum/blob/master/etc/l3_agent.ini
metadata_host was never used and is now gone - so this should be removed.
metadata_port should be changed to 9697.
With Havana there is an enable_metadata_proxy - but I guess this (and any other havana metadata stuff) can go in a new bug so this one can be back-portable.

http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-network/admin/content/install_quantum-l3.html - Wrong - the second warning appears out of nowhere and I don't it's relevent in Grizzly anyway.

http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-network/admin/content/connectivity.html - Wrong - the note at the bottom can go.

There needs to be a new section in "Appendix B. Core config files..." for metadata_agent.ini
