Tom, looked at the github flavored markdown, it's very close to the original + some githubby mods.

I see they allow <pre> tag, I can work on that actually and modify our markdown converter, I've looked at the parser code recently.

Also I have added info for the "code" button in the instructions on how to ask the question, let's see if this makes any impact on th e quality of formatting of the questions in the coming week or two.
