Hum for me it seems to come from MLT. (The fact that you can't move the cursor without having a crash).

Could you get back the last development version of MLT ?
I am agree that 's not funny and can be complicated and it is without guarantee.
Under if you can wait another stable version.
It is working with the 0.7.7.
