Thanks for the feature requests. I'll tag this as 'wishlist' so it doesn't get lost in the bug tracker. Quick comment: We have a 'Solid Color' title, if you click "New Title". This allows you to set any color, and the alpha. This is a pretty quick way to get a black clip.
