I have checked the "Power Mail" module and yes, you are right the password field don't visible in web client as well as it's clearly displayed on GTK-Client. But it's not a problem of web6.1 because it's working as expected.
Describe in detail:
On Power Mail module we have put "invisible=True" on smtppass(Password) field look at the line#62 poweremail_core.py.
So this field doesn't display as web works but GTK client dispyed this field.
I have checked this attribute on another field which gives the same result this means that "invisible=True" attribute doesn't works for GTK-Client .
