Yes, we re-developped a better base_contact allowing the exact same
features than the 6.1 one, but the structure is a bit different.
We had to support it has we noticed we had OpenERP Enterprise customers
using it. It has been announced 2 months ago.
It's under code review now. You can test this branch on runbot:

Technically, it's not implemented like that, but it does what you need:
- one person working for several companies or having several addresses
The useability is different than in v6.1 but all people that tested it
think it's better.
