If you want to read about the Microsoft Dynamics data model for customers, please read the technical documentation. Starting point is http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg309704.aspx You will see an "Account" entity, a "Contact" entity, a "CustomerAddress" entity. I'm pretty certain similar concepts apply to Sage and Quickbook.

I'm all in favor of having a nice GUI which makes it simple for the end user to make the correct decision, abstracts the gruesome details of the data model. But please, please, please, don't enforce on your partner a data model imagined after the GUI of your competitors.
