I don't know this connector, but I know product_images as I did the migration in the branch you mention ;-) (and is now obsolete)

product_images_olbs has been renamed to product_images in OpenERP 7.0. But that's the same module. And I'm absolutely sure that the branch you linked won't work for OpenERP 6.1 (as you noticed).
